Overflow Weir

These are photos of overflow weirs at a couple of coal mines.

Grout Filled Fabric Revetment - GFFR - is often used to protect overflow weirs from scouring erosion which would wash out the dam or pond embankment.

The GFFR can be installed covering the entire weir, or a drive lane can be built across the center to allow maintenance vehicle access.

The monolithic aspects of GFFR make it an excellent option for this application.

The maintenance-friendly aspects of GFFR leave the owner with an overflow structure that can be easily treated to keep vegetation from disrupting it.
